monkeys are wild animals protected under wild life act of India. Experiments on monkeys are controlled by CPCSEA i.e. Commiittee for the purpose of control and supervision of experiments on animals. Monkeys are also being used in biomedical research not only in recognised Indian laboratories but also in the lesser exposed labs of multinationals. There is hapazard trapping of monkeys and the required number of specific age and sex quitely shifted to the laboratories. Hapazard trapping and removal of certain members from a well knit monkey society s leading to chaos , monkeys spreading all over , becoming aggressive thus biting , scratching , clawing humans of the areas where monkeys have reached after the above said wrong policies. Unless policies change, transparency comes in the working of CPCSEA , monkey are management by the forest department of central government rather than municipal bodies with cats , dogs , cattle etc -the domesticated animals situation will not change. Time to time announcements by governments to not feed the monkeys/feed monkeys at specific points/ collect the food from public and give it to monkeys in the so called Bhatti monkey sanctuary are all eye wash to keep the public's attention away from the real issues mentioned above. more
agree. all are responsible means no body is responsible. more
Everything seems to be the responsibility of the Municipal bodies, or the Govt. Our responsibility as a citizen, is only to complain and blame...!!! more
Successive governments have been given the ways to tackel monkeys but multiplicity of authority, non transparent approach to management and corruption at all levels is obstructing any change . more
good advice, but it is unfortunate that a common man has to approach judiciary every time to address various problems aflicting governance. it is regrettable that only after courts rap authorities on their knuckles that they are forced to obey and follow court orders. i wish municipal authorities and elected reps take responsibility to do their job. more
