Dustbins in Noida
I see that our news papers are just merely good at highlighting issues but do nothing to derive solutions. We all know there is shortage of dustbins in Noida. How can residents, authority, associations, corporates (so many here), rwas work together to get 1000 dustbins in noida. HCL gave 15 crores to ngos for some causes, cant they fund cleanliness in noida?
Can corporates fund this from CSR budget, can rwas and business/market associations take care of them and reimburse if they fail, can authority and police ensure garbage removal and maintenance and action.. more

I still say until Government take responsibility for cleanliness appoint cleaning staff and install dustbins it is not big garbage bins on road sides, in parks, in markets and all public places and get them regularly empty it is like in USA then public will through waste in the bins and then city will look clean, there should also be regular brooming on all roads, inside and outside colonies and all main roads. This way many youngsters will get jobs. At present government through municipal corporations spending huge money for cleanliness of the city but major money go to corrupt official's pockets and fake employees are registered there is no monitoring of the work as money goes to the responsible/Sr. Officials pocket. In Europe & USA the cleaning work is done by the government not by any NGOs or volunteers. Country spend very huge money on roads, rivers cleanings, and other public works but major part of the money goes in corrupt politicians, bureaucrats & contractors and little work is actually done. I have seen in Noida in every underpasses costed 40-50 carors rupees. So until corruption is not stopped no good result can be achieved in India. more

Cleanliness possible if authority is willing sincerely to do so for that on road sides, in parks, in the markets and all public places must install dustbins and get them empty on regular basis as without dustbins public will not be encouraged to put the waste in the bins and will throw here and there. Authority monitor work of cleaning staff whom authority is paying salary that staff is cleaning all places where they are assigned regularly. Accountability is fixed on whom who are responsible and guilty should be punished. more

RWAs are the immediate contact points for the residents to get rederessal of issues. As such empowering RWAs shd be the priority of Govt. Further these can bring early resolve to the problems than any authority/ Govt. In my view contributions/donations given to RWAs by residents shd attract exemptions from Income tax like the one to religious and NGOs . A petition shd be sent to Finance Minister to give this due consideration. more

Many of these are good suggestions and good ideas. However, I would like to ask Noida-wallahs... How many of us are prepared to pay a higher Society Maintenance charge of just Rs. 50 a month to ensure more cleanliness in our areas? How many of us are prepared to supervise cleaning works in our own areas? Most of us want others to do the job, but neither we want to do those jobs nor we are ready to pay for these jobs. This is the main reason why Clean-India or Swachh Bharat is bound to fail. more
