Do we want to shorten our lifespans
I am seeing the poll in this circle and 30% people are saying they don't want ban on 10 year old diesel vehicles in noida. on one hand we complain about pollution and air, on other we dont want to make any sacrifices. How will it work?? more

If it has been identified that diesel vehicles emit more pollutants, the purchase of diesel cars in metro cities should be banned altogether. The Govt bodies and municipal corporations of metro cities should not be allowed to purchase diesel cars and trucks but should be asked to have CNG or electric vehicles. But it appears that lobby of diesel car manufacturers is so strong that even supreme court succumbed to their lawyers' arguments. Another mute question is "where will you dump large number of old vehicles"? more

Earlier the necessity to go for overhaul of vehicle was considered/recommended to increase pulling capacity of vehicle. This was a case when rings were required to be replaced or sleeve to be inserted. No body could suspect the fuel or mobile oil because they were of certified company control now we know that except heavy goods carriers who tend to overload the vehicles other vehicles if found making pollution the culprit is fuel and strict checks should be placed on that rather than thinking of making vehicles off road on its age basis more

#Devesh Saxena are you implying that I obtained PUC through bribe ? My point is that old vehicle does not automatically mean it pollutes more than new vehicle. The test numbers show it is almost exactly same as when it was 2 years old. This is a stupid system. more
