Discoms Audit and Politics
Interesting to see power companies threatening outage as the audit looms on them. Now the question is whether congress will support AAP or the power companies (who they may have cordial and friendly relations with). Will the CM get stuck sorting this. Is/Will congress play politics by letting some outages happen to prove a point that AAP approach is not practical? Views more

I recently saw a news item where Mr. Vinod Rai, former CAG has said something to the effect that all PPP companies should be audited by CAG. This should be accepted immediately and the process should be started by the government. more

Generation of power is not with distcoms, they buy power from Generating companies like NTPC etc. No doubt account books can be manipulated but CAG is manned by CAs and other finance experts, they can easily detect these manipulations. CAG audit can give true picture. more

For sure. They would be inflating the costs to show much higher generating cost per unit and in turn justify the high costs being charged to the consumers which now the AAP government is determined to expose. more

I do not understand why they are afraid of CAG audit. They should be happy that truth will come out. Do they have something to hide? more
