1.Most of the Zila Panchayat CEOs are highly corrupt
2.Panchayat land is occupied illegally by people but the Sarpanch would not object to it
3.Most of the funds provided to panchayats for development works in the district are diverted for personal gains by the governing body
4.They take bribes from people to take decisions in their favour
5.They bribe their way to get funds released from the states and fill their own pockets
6.Political parties bribe the panchayat members and influence their decisions
7.Villagers cannot request/ or get any development work done till they pay a bribe.

The main corruption is execution of work order on payment of commission by the contractors to the Engineers. Utilise the vigilance department in taking action against the corrupt officials. more

Like any central/state govt. come in power, there is no change in the attitude of the govt. staff. Similarly any sarpanch/panchayat come as elected one, there is no difference to the BDPOs/DDPOs. The panchayats are pupit of these panchayat officers. For example they know fully well that panchayat lands have been in possession of illegal people. They ignore and if someone complaints, they do not take any action. The funds provided to panchayats for development works are eaten by these white ants. NaMo can not change the system attitude. They know the politicians come & go. They have to stay/govern the public. India can not be corruption free in villages. more

It is shame on the part of Government Machinery which is not functioning effectively and efficiently. Every thing is there in law and the the adequate and absolute power is vested with the concerned authority to deal cases independently. But what isthe some thing missing? Even the greedy bureaucrats/politicians etc can be booked and punished by the law by the appropriate higher authorities. What is the role of Vigilance Department of both state and Central Governments ? Why The Income Tax Department is not taking action against the coruppted and wealth amazed Government Servants immediately ? The Election Commission of India is not taking proper and prompt action against the tainted politicians contesting election, in time ? Whom to be blamed is it politician or the bureauracratics ? more
