Corruption in State Transport Dept
With this post we would like to seek your inputs on the various ways in which corruption is practiced in the various State Transport Depts. Kindly share based on your experiences how exactly the department engages in corrupt practices/citizen harassment.
The objective of this exercise is to understand the issues in detail and then discuss causes/solutions seperately to propose something to the State Administrations that addresses this gap.

The efforts to make all transactions of transport department are halfhearted. A website was created for the convenience of public. But still most of the applications are routed through the Digital service centers placed around RTA offices. Even the computer experts apply through these centers. If investigated the reasons will be known. We work with closed eyes. more
in Jodhpur(Rajasthan) RTO is the registering authority for the all types of vehicles, as well renew of the RCs,driving licences etc.Not a single case can be quoted whic has been processed directly by the applicants,each and every case has to go through the agents available in the premises of RTO with their table chairs.this is why each and evry applicant does not know to whom to contact because there is no single window to provide proper guidance.THIS IS DIRECTLY CORRUPTION. more

There is no exception, more corruption in all state Department. Most of the cases, common man directly affected by this corruption. In state transport department the transport employees like drivers and conductors are mostly affected and the persons in senior level & managerial level collect money for transfers, promotions, etc. Employees who are questioning this practices will be harassed by the senior personnel like issuing memo, suspension, etc.
The area where more corruption is maintenance of vehicle. Most of the employees other than drivers and conductors are leaders in trade union and also members in any political party either ADMK or DMK. This leaders are not ready to work, they simply pass the time by speaking politics. In maintenance, the spare parts area is the main corruption area. They are not using the original spares and using low quality spares. So the condition of the buses in three years becomes not usable condition. Since maintenance are not good, public also affected by getting poor service, often breakdown, etc. No transparent SOP in place of any work, maintenance, etc. Private bus operators earning good and giving better service than public transport with same price. Simply we can say main area of corruption in State Transport department is Maintenance. more

Auto ₹250 for same
Poolcar ride ₹250 for the same
Car ride ₹350 for same
Guess ₹5 gotta be upped!
CMRL is THE ONLY FUTURE WAY TO GO IF PEOPLE WANT HEALTHY LUNGS AND TO LIVE BEYOND THEIR 60'S !!!!!
ESPECIALLY TO CONNECT THE IT STRETCH OF PYR, WHERE NOT ONLY COMMUTERS WILL PAY BUT IT'D WEAN TRAFFIC OFF THE ROADS! more
