Rightly said by Ranjit, it is we as we, who encourage corruption. I have come across in the Local VAT office, any walk in for any job to be done by the authority attracts bribe. I have not paid any money, but in front of me a Case worker was paid a sum of Rs. 500/- (inspector) just to get file moved to Local Vat officer for Signature. When she asked me , I not only refused to pay, but asked her (in high peach voice) does the government not paying U salary & and let me remind you because of the revenue which pay to this department, is pays you salary in turn. She kept quite, and other who were listening did not raise their head in her favour. Why the goldsmith across the country went on for agitation for 40 days, they don't mind paying Excise, but they were afraid of Harassment by excise officers. So let's stop paying bribe more

Why they are Corrupt , reason we are Corrupt. Stop giving bribe. Fight together. United we stand , Divided we fall. Simple. Let each of the Citizen take a Oath not to give Bribe, and people must support them. Untill this happens , there is not use. more

Not only the Excise Department but all the government revenue departments are heavily infested with most corrupt people. But it won't be justified only to blame these departments. The indian businesses are equally responsible to make them corrupt to achieve their own goals without caring for any system, rules & regulations. Now that the hunger of the people of these departments has increased to an extent that the businesses are finding it difficult to meet and started making all sorts of hue & cry. Let the businesses first totally stop evasion of excise duty payment, keep their all records regularly updated and transparent and half of their issues will be automatically solved. more

The Central Excise law has to be revamped. It is very ambiguous which gives scope for misuse. Definitely the law needs to be specific. more
