Corruption in All India Radio
Central Stores of All India Radio purchases spares worth 30 to 40 Crores every year. The purchases are made by tenders. All the tenders are opened by the officers of the same department without having any officer from other department. They open the tender and announce only the prices of Lowest bidder. In case the lowest bidder is their favourite firm then they change the quotation and bring the price near to the second lowest bidder. In some cases the tenders are not announced and they manage three quotation and purchase the material from their favourite company on exorbitant prices. They demand bribes to the extent of 35% and in case the supplier refuses to pay they create problems in accepting the material and make sure that the order placed on that company is cancelled in case that company applies for extension of delivery period even for one week with liquidated damages.
I do not know how to control these kind of corruption when the whole department is involved. more

Same corruption stories are prevalent in all departments & PSUs and if you file RTI seeking details the reply will be 1) GENERIC QUERIES 2) THIRD PARTY INFORMATION & so on. Every section of ACT containing exemptions are claimed so that no information can be given to information seeker. more

I agree with Gopabandhu Mohapatra.The same corruption is not only with ONGC but also in all NAVARATNA companies.It is mainly due to corrupt officials from top to bottom and political Bosses.Mainly in Quality Control Department, Maintenance department,Vigilance Security and Safety Department and Stores Department.This corruption can be seen with nacked Eye but it is very difficult to prove on paper, because it is goining Hand in Glove With the above mentiond Four.To eradicate this, Pure commitment and Sincear Intervention of the Central government.The Vigilance, Security and safety Departments shoul be completely Over Hauled and Strict, Sincear, and Honest officers should inducted at all levels. more

Quotations can obtained/submitted online. Mutli level particpation and approval on quality and price such that approving peronel need not leave his/her seat/ofice. more

Same corruption story is with O.N.G.C. where thickly salaried employees r looting the organisation but who cares since ministers and officers are looked after well during their visits/joy rides. more

Corruption has mingled in our blood, how some department can avoid it !!! Let us take stringent action against corruption. more
