Consider Voluntary Retirement for Central Government Employees

Much is being talked by bureaucrats and officials of Central Government about the changed circumstances due to new government. It would be better to give the mind that if the employee (whatever cadre might be in) does not deliver or not ready to accept the requirements from his appointment, it was the time to show exit gate to them. Hence it might consider to give an option of voluntary retirement or face severe punishment if they fail to deliver the desired results. It shall also be made clear that such failed employees would summarily be sent out under article of Constitution as was done hitherto. more

It is not difficult to impose discipline in government employees. They have not become like this themseleves. There are somebody responsible. Political interferences in all walks of official levels is the reason for corruption, indiscipline and lethargy. Disipline has to be imposed with iron hand. Government employees should be made to know that are earning their livelyhood with taxpayers money and they should be made responsible and accountable towards the nation. Punitive action and Voluntary retirement is not a solution. Counciling, motivation and imposing discipline is the solution. Corruption is deep rooted. This should be removed totally and accoutability of each one should imposed strictly. more
Discipline in service is an obligation, train, council, punish if matters & attitude is not positive to entrusted job schedule. more
I suggest implementation of a comprehensive goal structure based on the cadre of each of those bureaucrats and a proper review mechanism (half yearly and annual) should be conducted to ensure proper check is in place. more
It is easier said than done. Have you ever heard prosecution of a Bureaucrat? We have heard Army Generals being packed home but never a Civil Servant. They are like the Politicians, if they get through in Civil Services once, they are there forever! more
