Infrastructure Issues: Dear All, Indian infrastructure is creaking.Power sector is very bad.Delhi ,UP is an example. I was thinking it was time for government to do some bold reforms. MNERGA schemes .land acquisition act ,Food security act all are impediment to growth. Supply side issues like gas /coal needs to overhauled. Stalled projects with backing from states needs to be pushed. Power tariff reforms are not done in states. Gas price decision making is still balanced. Need to first carry out power sector reforms. How will government fund this projects? Labour reforms, tax reforms. I think it needs to be taken care in the first months itself. Inflation needs to be tackled so that interest rate can be brought down. Every project that are taking off needs to be monitored until completion. Especially government sponsored projects are delayed sometime. more

HIMANISH BHATTACHARJEE Power Sector Reforms: Dear Modig Pushing stalled projects is not enough.U have to solve the power sector issuses and coal sector issues. The power tariff are set by states. So that citizens can pay.But the production cost of power have risen. To pay the power companies the state government have to bear the subsidies which they are not willing to do.The discoms are in debt. The power companies are struggling to get payment. The Coal India Limited has not raised the prices of coal since it believes the power companies will not be able to afford it.Hence the Coal India Limited is in loss. This is a unending cycle and needs your reform hand.Unless this issues are solved investments will not take off. Again the transmission losses are also there.. more
