Any difference between political regime of 1947 and 2014?

I refer to the call of Vinod Binny for Kiran Bedi to be considered for Chief Minister of Delhi. This reminds me of to find out if at all there is any difference in political regime of 1947 and 2014.

I. Kiran Bedi herself has agreed following 2 points which are quite relevant to political consideration:
1. She has agreed to of having cliamed false travel bills but justified that it was done to benefit the NGO. The main question is that the claiming of false travel bill is unethical and can it be justified that it was to benefit her NGO. Can you steal the items from a shop for someone saying that it was for somebody else. Would you like to have unethical Chief Minister?
2. In one of the TV debate on implicating of parents in 498a (irrespective of whether parents staying with the son or not), she justified that the parents should be implicated as it will force them to come on the negotiating table. Is it not equal to the legalised extortion?
Considering two above points, shall Delhi have a Chief Minister who is not less than a extortionist as well as submitting false travel bills?

II. Samriti Irani and Arun Jaitli both are being considered for a Ministerial post if the newspaper reports are some indication. Both have recently lost election. Now if it is moral to make someone a Minister who has lost public mandate?

III. It is understood that more than 100 persons in the BJP have come elected who were facing some or the other criminal charges and even some facing murder charges. If any person cannot be appointed in the govt service (even some clerical post) if someone is facing criminal charges, how someone facing criminal charges can be considered to head the government officials.

I am unable to find answers to such issues. more

@ Virmani ji, there is no comparison between the small misfeasance by Kiran Bedi and the huge loot by the Congress which you consciously avoid mentioning. The 498-A opinion is her personal opinion and everyone including you are entitled to that. Smriti Irani lost because she had the guts to face RG which we did not have in case of Sonia. By the same token, if AK and Kumar Vishwas have lost, are they to be dumped ? Lastly, the criminal charges in order to become a bar for a person to elected require a change in the election law. Rest of the issue has already been decided by the Supreme Court and Lalu lost his seat because of that. more
We should not hurry for Assembly election. We should wait till BJP do some mistake and give us point to put before public. It all come true in a month or two. HS.Ubi 9811562849 General Insurance,Investment & business correspondant On Tue, May 20, 2014 at 12:24 PM, S K Virmani wrote: > more
Dear Mr. Pranay, I have never said that AK swore over kids not to join politics. It was a satire aimed at people saying that AK 'swore over kids' Nothing is permanent in politics. Now, Kiran Bedi is conveying her desire to enter political arena as it suits her to rule under the shadow of Modi. more
Dear Mr. Sanjay Gupta, AK never swore over his kids to enter politics but to take support from Congress or BJP, and the matter of fact is he never took support, the support was externally provided and AAP had a "minority" government. more
