Advertisement by EMI Free Car Pvt. Ltd is misleading-says Advertising Standards Council of India
Dear Members, I have brought two articles on the subject of misleading advertisement by EMI Free car Pvt. Ltd as per details given on my blog whose link is

The issue was taken up with Advertising Standard Council of India. I am pleased to share that the complaint taken up has been upheld in a review where I have to argue on its logical analysis and finally the complaint got upheld. The complaint earlier was rejected. The company has been given time till 26th August 2014 to take corrective actions. Meanwhile I request members to spread message to as many people as possible as this is the way forward for the consumer empowerment.
The next step is to take up the matter with Ministry of Information Technology to block the domain name www.emifreecar.com more

Dear Mr. Virmani, My comment was more to bring focus on the various other mode of ads running. To share with the community, I was among the first few selected in Delhi by myemifree car, and i had confirmed on the same but when I got to receive the contract document It was a eye opener for me. As mentioned by you 1. Loan was on individual names. 2. Vehicle had to run minimum kms in a specified city only. 3. Vehicle was to be fitted by GPS to track the vehicle. 4. Interest payment was only when they were satisfied with the parameters. 5. Interest to be paid directly to bank account which means a additional income for individual means tax on the income. 6. No damage to the vehicle and ads. 7. many more points which i dont remember its a year now. It was a plain marketing gimmick. Good that you took this step. Its a long way to go for all of us. Dear Mr. Sridhar, It is nice to see the response on the post. It is very much certain, the company has not taken any permission to display the advertisement. I for the time being is not commented as to whether to allow the advertisement on the vehicles or not as this would be a lengthy debate and is irrelevant to the context of the present post. However, it is a fact that EMI Free Car Pvt Ltd has got no permission to display the advertisement else they would have responded to my mail as well as submitted before authorities to substantiate accordingly. 2. EMI Free Car is not at all distantly related to its title i.e Car can not be purchased at all without payment of EMI. 3. Many many vehicles are running with an ads on the car does not give any one a licence to flout the norms. In fact as citizens, it is our responsibility to bring all offenders to bring them to the books. 4. The buyer whosoever takes a decision to buy the car with an assumption that he will not be required to pay any EMI after down payment is made is in fact being deceived. Deception could be a act of criminalisation and god knows if he has to sell the vehicle tomorrow based on his purchase under certain presumptions. 5. Why not EMI Free Car complies with all requirements and get permission and informs clearly to the perspective buyers. In fact their silence on the email queries is supportive of fraudulent practices. I feel the company need to adhere to the policies instead of taking excuse of the flouting of norms if at all by others. As a true citizen let the company come forward in complaining against those offenders instead of offending themselves. In the end please excuse me if any of my comment are found offending. I understand they have not taken any permission to display ads. there are thousand of ads that get displayed on car, buses, cabs, trucks....For instance all radio cabs display ads on cabs... more that 80% privates cabs have some or other information getting carried on the back or side. Auto's in delhi have have not started running ads. whats about the private cars display ads on the back of the car which works as a sin reflector also. Almost all transport vehicles have got all the entire vehicle painted, dont they requrie permission. If you change the color of your car you require permission from RTO but what about commercial vehicles why single out EMIFreecars why not include the entire vehicles... emifreecars its a good way for people to earn some extra money. EMIfreecars would go back and take necessary approval and start again. Please share your views Mr. S K Virmani. Regards more
