88% of people working on computer for long hours suffer from Computer Vision Syndrome. Tiredness of eyes, headache, dryness eyes, red burning eyes, pain neck & wrist etc. due to decreased blinking, small font size, high contrast etc.
Prevention: Proper posture, screen 10 degree lower than eye level and tilted backwards. After every 20 mins. look at distance of 20 ft. beyond and blink 20 times (20-20-20). Wet your eyes frequesntly. Palming of eyes and rotation exercise will help. Accomodation exercise - look at pen tit at distance of 30 cms. from nose and then beyond 50 ft. Moisturising eye drops i.e. Refresh tears may help. more

Thanks. Actually, the letters we see on screen (computer or mobile) are constantly in motion as compared to printed letters. Our eyes have to focus on these which leads to strain on eye muscles. The font size should also be bigger to reduce eye strain. Practice of reading printed material is gradually fading and hence the strain. more
Also want to know how constant usage of mobile phone affects our eyes and if there are any tips as both screen and text are smaller. I was in a lift yesterday and all the 5 people in the lift except me were looking into their mobile phone. more
