54 unauthorised colonies added to the piped water supply network in the past 5 months.

A total of 54 unauthorised colonies have been added to the piped water supply network in the past five months.

Water supply and pressure in 60 other unauthorised colonies and villages have also been improved. DJB officials said this was made possible by increasing the production of treated water, rationalising supply with the help of new underground reservoirs and improving efficiency.

As per a DJB statement, the Delhi Government has given the go-ahead for laying pipelines in 237 new colonies. The DJB reached the peak treatment output of 878 million gallons per day (MGD) recently.

Media is more interested in BJP protests against AAP Govt. for shortage of water. However, above news found a very little corner of 6th page of not-so-popular news paper. more

itis good to know that the state govt is working to reach water to all, but i fail to see why no one talks of why such a situation arose? every political party winks at slums coming up via unauthorized occupation of public land. while resources are static their users are increasing. on top of that the govt policy, a warped concept of socialism, encourages this phenomenon.it is high time that an honest govt take up the cudgels on behalf of the honest tax payer who suffers at the cost of the dishonest. more
