Brickbats for Micromax.
This is my experience with Micromax. In January 2014 I bought a Micromax A240 smartphone costing around INR 16,000/-. After working fine for about 2 months, the power on button did not work. It was repaired at their authorised service center, located 15 km away but the problem continued to recur. After 14 -yes Fourteen- such visits they replaced the handset with a different model (which was not new but a repaired unit). This worked for 2 months and again the same problem has developed.
Micromax is very clear. They will not return your money, but will repair it as many times as you bring it to their service center during the one year warranty.
Micromax is nothing like anything!! more

See from your documents available and terms and conditions normally overleaf in very small letters, whether is warranty for repair of guarantee for replacement. If the product is of low quality/reliability, even replacement will not be of much help. This happened earlier with Chinese CFL, which were sold in any unknown company brand at price more than Rs 100/-, where as price of Chinese CFL cost was Rs 15/-. Even after replacing 3-4 times the company and dealers are earning but the cost to customers in getting replacement and mental agony was much more than Rs 100/-. Micromax initially also started with this culture. You ask the company to give a higher version quality and reliable set and take the difference of price. If they refuse, tell them that you are reporting this in few newspapers, give it in few newspapers, so that others are not be-fooled. more

Dear Mr. Rajeshwar Ji, It is a fact that Micromax do have the worst after sales service. The consumers while buying the mobile look at the price as Micromax have got very aggressive prices and these prices are at the cost of the worst service. The company has also got problem with their service centres. The avoidance is the best solution for such companies.
