26 weeks of maternity leaves
The labor minister has announced that the Govt will be giving an order so women get 26 weeks of maternity leave instead of 12 weeks. I am not sure if he means this as paid or unpaid leave.

Work held up due to this may be fulfilled by appointing the Pensioners living in that city to be called if they found fit to do the work. But they should have the Leave. more

1. In Germany, due to various reasons, the new births are dropping. Hence they are clamouring to make space for refugees (in their own very little way). 2. It is better to have good supporting policies for working women. 2.a. Even if you give 1 year ML, and continuous work from home (WFH) for women employees, that will be minimum requirement. 3. Ultimately, it is for the manager to gauge productivity / availability over chat email / phone, irrespective of working from the same office; even in Agile / Scrum methodology. 4. It is up to the employee to prove why they can be given a higher salary in the short run / promoted. 5. Yahoo could not afford, so they stopped WFH. They were amongst the first few to start WFH. 6. We are talking about companies who can afford to have employees WFH. Not otherwise. 7. It is up to the companies to acquire and retain talented individuals. 7.a. Companies can easily gain publicity for their employee friendliness. Why would we not consider being employee-friendly for a company, to be part of its game plan to get media attention, for free / a small such cost? This will be just a small cost, even if taken under the head 'marketing / publicity expenses'. In this way even getting a government jobs will sound like a good idea. 7.b. In real terms, we are speaking about giving a good opportunity to individuals to get employed, gain experience, while the company also benefits by hiring new and qualified talent. more

Well, women are mothers. We just have to accommodate them, not as a favor, but as a duty. What happens if you and I fall sick for long? more

Madam do know that 12 weeks ML is required to be availed by women employee 6 weeks prenatal & remaining leave of 6 weeks for postnatal periods . But do you think this is being scrupulously follow . No , because child care in our place is required even more than 6 weeks and for that our women employees proceeds for ML 1 -2 week before . They are also availng ML by joining their earned leave or leave on loss of pay . You can go trough the context in which our Labor Mini. has declared enhancement of ML to 26 weeks .It clearly mean ML with salary & not other wise . As explained above the women employees were taking leave for 12 week plus their own leave which is now not required to be taken and the child care as well as the care of women be better are care off. Be sure that 26 weeks leave are with wages . more
