just for my information has any shopkeeper refused to pay Rs.10/- to nagarnigam ? If Yes ! what problem did he face ? what kind of hell he really gone through ?
or you think it is such an insignificant amount no body seems to get bothered .
why can't all the road side shop keepers be allotted serial numbers as their temporary identification to avoid any confusion ! there can be hundred ten ways by which it can be controlled i am sure !
please suggest how do we(Volunteers) initiate to put an end to this practice once for all ! more

I have gone around the world and find that this Road Side vendors are highly regulated, limited in numbers and are all are registered with local municipal/respective authorities and display their registration number on a big plate on their kiosk. They pay a fee for registration and plying their trade on the roadside/pavements. So if we can control their ever growing number, register them legally and they pay any fixed amount (as does every business), it should be possible to remove the police harassment and give them legitimacy in operating the business. more

Ashok ji, fully agreed but finding ways to control is the responsibility of those who are also party to corruption. Today such collection are made manually and there is no check list available. In my opinion, such payments can be made by shopkeepers online on quarterly basis through alloted easy payment outlets. One time master data about the vendors may be made available. This is just loud thinking. more
