Press release

After shocking revelation about BJP leader and NDMC Vice Chairman Karan Singh Tanwar’s complicity with the murderers of honest NDMC officer Mohammed Moin Khan, the Aam Aadmi Party today demanded immediate sacking of Karan Singh Tanwar as Vice Chairman of the NDMC, his arrest and custodial his interrogation to ascertain his role in the gruesome murder.

Addressing a press conference, Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi Convenor Dilip Pandey released the letter written by BJP leader Tanwar to the Lieutenant Governor demanding Mohammad Moin Khan’s removal from his position in the NDMC, because he had refused to take bribe to benefit a defaulter hotelier and was protecting the interest of the NDMC. Dilip Pandey said,”Moin Khan was a brave and honest officer. Police officers have told the media that Khan did not succumb to pressure and did not accept bribe to favour hotelier Ramesh Kakkar, facing a penalty of 140 crore rupees. Moin Khan knew that it could endanger his life but he decided to stay firm.”

“What baffles us is the ground that Tanwar gave in his letter for demanding Moin Khan’s transfer and strict action against him. The ground is that he was favouring NDMC and not the hotelier, who was facing half a dozen cases of cheating, fraud and embezzlement.” said Pandey and asked,”Is this what BJP does? Was protecting NDMC’s interest a crime for which Tanwar was demanding Khan’s removal and strict action against Khan? The letter clearly shows that Tanwar had undue interest in the deal and was blackmailing the officer. Now Moin Khan has sacrificed his life for his commitment to honesty and will inspire generations to come. But the Aam Aadmi Party will take the issue to its logical end.”

Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Okhla Amantullah Khan said that Moin Khan was so honest that he could not even pay fee for her daughters’ education. “Today when I met his youngest daughter, she said her father made the supreme sacrifice for the cause. Now it’s duty of every Indian to insure justice for him.”

Party MLA from Delhi Cantt Commando Surender Singh said that Khan had met him and had complained against Tanwar. Tanwar had called him to his office and had intimidated him. Surender Singh said that he had assured Khan to raise the issue in the next meeting of the NDMC.

Dilip Pandey said that Moin Khan is martyr and Aam Aadmi Party will leave no stone unturned to insure justice for Khan. He said Aam Aadmi Party demands immediate sacking of Tanwar as Vice Chairman of the NDMC. Party also demands that Tanwar should be immediately arrested for custodial interrogation to investigate his complicity with the murderers of Khan. “Police has to thoroughly investigate Tanwar’s call records and his financial dealings to get to the truth. If the BJP has to come clean in the case, it has to ensure strict action against Tanwar. If that does not happen, people of this country will think that corruption has been institutionalized in the BJP and Tanwar alone is not involved in such activities.

Dilip Pandey also asked the following questions from the BJP on this issue:

1) Why did senior Delhi BJP leader and NDMC vice-chairman Karan Singh Tanwar seek the removal of an honest officer late MM Khan from the post of Estate Officer ?

2) Why did Karan Singh Tanwar write to the Delhi LG and seek interference in the internal matter of NDMC ?

3) Why was Karan Singh Tanwar pressurising the NDMC to do an illegal act of not taking action against Hotel Connaught which was not paying licence fees since 1995 ?

4) What was Karan Singh Tanwar’s interest in Hotel Connaught ?

5) What is the BJP’s stand on the murder of Mr MM Khan ? more

BJP has restricted the Delhi AAP government by forcing the LG, ACB, Delhi Police, MCD to harass AAP and the people of Delhi too. A murder so open, BJP is shouting against AAP. What a pathetic situation, we still depend on all these bodies to take action against any accused. BJP is punishing entire Delhi for the unprecedented electoral support given to AAP. Delhi must bring in AAP on all positions of MCD in the coming election otherwise Delhi will be turned in hell. more
I think let the inquary commision take a final decision more
I sincerely support the AAP, but I think AAP should make more efforts to verify facts, come out with reliable exposes. AAP should not risk its credibility in its anxiety to make a telling point. more
Who invented the party system in Politics? Time to think of doing away with party based political systems and ushering in individuals as people reps and leaders in democracies!! Also time to think about classifying corruption as a criminal offence attracting upto death penalty. more
Can we have our democracy - Individual basis instead of party basis. Given the number of people involved - we can not get good people to govern us. Even I have feeling Mr. Modi, himself is very good, but what about people in BJP. As long as every body on the Government post are the best and their integrity is beyond doubt than only we can have true democracy. I am deeply up set the - murder of young man in Bihar, especially by the son of democratically elected MLA of ruling party. And the state police and rightly so have closed the case - as an ordinary Road Range. After all - they have pressure from the ruling party. more
