Any loan waiver is not at all good. It creates bad precedence and also create bad morale. Genuine people feel cheated. The farmer who has paid the loan feels cheated. Let government try this once. All farmers in the area which is fraught affected equally, let government pay them as per cultivation area they own, directly credit to their bank account like subsidy, so that there is no grumble with any one. Then ask the farmers only to credit their loan account by issuing cheques from their account. No bankers lien should be allowed. Just see the honesty of the farmers. The persons who have not availed of the loan and who have fully paid up the loan will .be beneficiary. Good. Those who have taken loan, their loan account will be wiped off if subsidy amount received by them is used for payment of loan. Then they will be eligible for fresh loan. But the government will realise the honesty of the farmers. more

Do not rob Peter to pay Paul. Provide better means of cultivation and form cooperatives for the marginal fARMER. hELP THESE VENTURES TO GROW AND THRIVE. oTHERWISE THE SAME STORY WILL BE REPEATED YEAR AFTER YEAR, more
It is being a very sensitive issue needs to be dealt with utmost care and all the stake holders should be taken in confidence before taking any rational and logical step. Its absolutely wrong to waive the existing loans of the farmers - whatever be the threshold amount being fixed by different state Govts. Better ideas have been provided by Mr. Chandrasekhar Sharma and few others which can be implemented after detailed discussion with honest approach. If this trend of waiving the loans continues then it will definitely send a wrong message to the society. more
Waiving of loans will mostly benefit the large farmers with irrigated lands and those Meharauli types who use agricultural lands for purpose other than agriculture. Right approach will be having twelve pronged strategy. 1) Provide moratorium of up to 7 years for agricultural loans as agriculture is 7 year cycle for averaging out profits 2) Scrap minimum wages act as that makes agriculture labour so expensive that small farmer can never make profits. 3) Remove all restrictions on exports by farmers for ever. 4) Stop giving selective MSP and scrap the same. 5) Stop encouraging monocrop cultivation 6) Provide cash subsidy for organic farming and use of bullock power. 7) Provide scholarships to wards of small farmers 8) Give up foolish insistence on irrigation and instead plan for crops according the natural climate, soil, and available rainfall for small clusters all over the country 9) Scrap acts making it compulsory for farmers to sell goods in controlled mandis and to agents, instead making it optional. 10) Change thrust from high yield to economic production of farm produce 11) Begin consolidation of lands as the fragmented due to faulty ceiling act has resulted in lands being fragmented to the extent that they can rarely be profitable as merely agriculture land AND 12) Stop permission of sale of standardized or toned milk making pure milk sale compulsory to boost dairy industry which farmers can use as additional source of income and remove all forcible curbs on prices of milk and farm produce. more
It is very bad to waive load of any kind. The Government does not pay from the salary of Ministers or MP or MLA. It is Tax payers money they cannot throw away like this.
The Agriculture loan should be given on nominal Interest at 2% No loan should be waived. more
Enabling the farmers to be self sufficient is the best approach. Secondly, honoring the honest loan repaying farmers is another very good approach. Yes, repeated wavier of loans encourages farmers to take loans and not repay it. But who is responsible for this situation ? Political aspirations to be in power on continuous basis. So whether or not you like it, things will continue. Have faith in the system with good faith. Faith will materialize some day. more
The person who is going to benefit the most are the big shark who have acres and acres of land with them and travel in all sort of luxury vehicles as these are the people who are powerful and have access to the top most connections and these are the people who have pressurized the govt. for loan waiver. A very very bad precedence and very sad as the honest people are being cheated of their honesty more
Cancellation of Loan in toto has been habituating since long i.e. from congress regime. Former governments simply printed the currency notes in bulk and distributed amongst the public whenever waiver orders passed. There were so many mischiefs done with national as well as state of economy and resulted in loosing international credits and international bazars. more
