Repatriation of mortal remains from abroad during Covid19 crisis
Am a non resident senior citizen Indian living in UAE since more than four decades and may I solicit your kind attention to an urgent matter that deserves your intervention.
Mortal remains of persons who died were allowed to be air freighted to India by cargo flights and it was a great solace and comfort for those who lost their dear ones here in this country.
Now, as reported, a dead body send by flight to Chennai from Dubai airport remains without being cleared and released insisting to return the mortal remains back to Dubai, for reasons unknown.
This has put the whole family back home in India and UAE in total dismay and distress without knowing what to do and whom to ask help. Dubai govt had been kind enough in allowing to send the dead body but authority at Chennai airport are refusing to release the corpse. Kindly intervene and undo this inhuman decision. An Indian deserves a dignified departure and burial . Jai Hind.
