Stinking from afar. Even the surroundings are wet and unclean, leave alone the facilities. Nobody uses water to flush after using urinals or WC. This flushing should be made automatic. Also need to have many more public toilets.
Public toilets are given to corrupt contractors by corrupt government officials, only when some senior Bureaucrat or politician is going to visit that area or railway/bus station the toilet is cleaned otherwise , the exhausts dont work/are not switched on, there are cobwebs hanging in the toilets, there is dirt of days/months not cleaned, the hygiene and sanitation is non-existent; we are ashamed to even say this that we belong to a metropolitan financial capital city of India where there is no government made toilet on the roads, or railway/bus stations which is neat and clean always. To add insult to injury when you point out the dirtiness, or non availability of water to someone, if present around there they shamelessly say that this is a public toilet and not a private toilet. Even after collecting unreasonable amount of taxes from the public; we still after 70 years of Independence lack basic facilities even in a city like Mumbai. The strange observation is that there are no functional public toilets in some areas of the city.
The very few public toilets that exist are not maintained well with the result it stinks when you enter them. Why can't they charge more, clean regularly and instruct people to flush the toilets.
