For a few years the House to House Garbage collection in my area (Jawahar Nagar) is very good. Garbage is collected Daily and neatly. Some of the issues is with individual houses keeping garbage outside their homes(inspite of garbage collectors coming inside the compound of every house to collect the garbage)on the platforms and the street dogs strews it all over the place. These households must ensure that Garbage especially food waste is not placed on the roadside.
Another major problem is big garbage trucks clearing garbage on main roads.It is most difficult to understand why Garbage has to be cleared only during the peak hour traffic and in the process create huge traffic blocks on the main roads. If Clearing Garbage on the main roads is done in the night say after 11 PM the roads would be empty, which makes it easier, convenient and faster to clear the Garbage and also the morning peak hour traffic is not blocked. The Chennai Corporation has to think on these lines sooner.

I belong to T.Nagar. The street Rubbish is cleared by Corporation self loading lorry daily. But only two collectors one at each end of the street are there. The one in the center was by some residents shifted away from where it was kept to the western end of the street and it is now not there and presume taken away. There was a time that the servant maids placed the garbage in the street collector and the street was kept clean. But now they throw it in front of the apartment and it piles up. Once in two days the corporation women cleaners collect them and keep them on the waste container for the lorry to clear it. On the eastern side of the street corporation loader lifts and dumps the garbage thrown on the road on an open lorry as and when the street is strewn with garbage. Things can be improved.

In T.Nagar area, garbage collection is very poor, particularly around Natesan Park, near TTD areas, almost daily the bins are overflowing and certain bins are damaged totally. This puts the residents to throw or dump the garbage on all sides. I do not know any contractor like Onyx or somebody is responsible for T.Nagar area. But enormous amount of garbage generated in Chennai may be a reason for this abysmal conditions.

Garbage cleaning has to improve in our area. The area around the dust bin is very bad and they are a nuisance to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
