1. Garbage collection & removal are done at regular intervals;
2. Mornings it is done between 7.45 to 8.05 a.m.;
3. After collecting the garbage the bin has to be kept at the corner, not blocking the traffic. This has been the major problem; I complained to the EE, AEE, Ae, & JE; they would come & instruct the conservancy workers. It will be in its place for a few days. After that it will find its way to the middle of the road.

areas for improvement
the collection time is close to office timings leading to a lot of delays in commuting .
the bins are very fragile and gets damaged during loading and unloading to the vehicle
the garbage is spilled all over the place most of the time
the vehicle is not at all cleaned resulting in smelling and with all dirt clinging it creates a very unhygienic condition
most of the workers are not using any protective gear required
90% of wheels are damaged
90% of time the bins are not kept in their pace after taking the garbage
the garbage bins obstruct the smooth passage of vehicles and pedestrians

suggestion :
remove wheels on bins
make bins stronger and suitable for handling using a loading hand operated hydrolic trolley like in factories
the above will lead to movement of the heavy bins using trollley only and by one person who can easily position the bins bellow the vehicle for lifting and lowering thereby avoinding damage while loading and unloading
making the bins heavier and not having wheels one can locate the same in fixed places which cannot be moved or tilted by urchins

The garbage collection lorry needs to avoid the morning peak hours beween 8am-11 am irrespective of the region. The school going children face severe hardships as well as it poses a safety threat. Also the the corporation water tankers is the biggest road safety threat especially to the school going children. In majority of the city areas heavy vehicle traffic is prohibited during the peak hours - is the Civic lorries not a heavy vehicle? Or is the rules not applicable to govt. Vehicles?

garbage collection being sysmatically done,but dust bins used are so small,nearly 3 to 4 times the volume overflows everyday and presents an ugly look and health hazard. In many places,bins occupy alsmost half of already narrow roads, obstructing traffic. Many bins are in damaged condition. Though cleaning done systematically, streets do not look clean on account of above problems

It is surprise to see and feel the way of collecting garbage in Poonamallee municipality. They do not have basic infrastructure and system to collect and dispose the garbage. It is garbage collection lorry guys wish to keep the collection bin at the middle of the road and it is public's wish to thro their garbage collection in vacant plots in and around the bins. I really do not know what type of sense, these educated people have. On the top of all this, still many peoples use open areas for toilets. I do not know where to address and how to overcome these public issues. I pray god (Temple, Mosque and Church are around my location) to save us.
