With the clubbing of Coromandel Exp with Howrah-Chennai Mail, and inevitable late arrivals of both trains for quite some years now, cleanliness has taken a big negative hit. The pantry car services on Coromandel have also nose-dived, while those on the H-C Mail remain as poor as always

I am a senior citizen and travel in AC 2 most of the time from Howrah to other places and back. It is my observation that when the rake comes on the platform at Howrah the coaches are not 100% clean. It seems that window frames, seat backs etc are never cleaned. Window glasses are not clear. I even had the experience on one journey where the glass in the window was pink and there was no outside view at all. As this was a long journey it was very frustrating during the day time not being able to look out.

Punctuality of the train has been considerably increased. Swachha Bharat awareness in trains in general including this train is the need of the hour from originating station to destination station. More Second class general compartments may be attached to the train in the interest of passengers in general and to stop travelling by un-reserved passengers in reserved compartments. Begging on trains should be stopped.

I find most of the trains to or from the Kolkata stations are not clean. Trains coming from south are clean until they leave Visakhapatnam. After that ......

Coramondal runs in time. The cleanliness is up to the satisfaction.
