XBB.1.16 - dont get hit

India is headed into a 5th wave driven by XBB.1.16 with low testing keeping actual case numbers lower than they are

Many will claim victory over Covid with regard to low O2 bed requirement, hospitalizations & deaths during acute phase of C19 infection - that is a remarkable achievement but we now have to focus on re-infection prevention as repeat infections are associated with:

⬆️⬆️ all cause mortality
⬆️⬆️ excess deaths
⬆️⬆️ of LongCovid causing disability
⬆️⬆️risks of sudden heart attack / sudden deaths
⬇️⬇️immunity significantly due to post-Covid immune dysfunction causing health systems to be overwhelmed by ⬆️⬆️ observed severity of infections by regular pathogens

Mask-up & prevent re-infections to protect your health. Covid may be mild in the acute phase but is the start of a disease process that will haunt people for years to come.

Not trying to be a fear monger but just a good citizen who is in the health sector treating patients 🙏🙏 more

Long Covid meaning triple or more vaccinated do develop mild to serious problems not only in India but globally. A published report in a prestigious medical journal claims that some 12% of vaccinated in Britain suffered from Long Covid. No one knows why should that be. My own daughter in USA is a victim of Long Covid. And, doctors simply do not know what to do. more
Most people who write all this do not know anything about the matter. Anyway It is interesting reading their views, even though these have no relevance. more
Most people die of Hospitalization due to drugs rather than die of actual Virus . Leave the numbers apart , it's wise to improve one's immunity level. Change in climate leads to more false postive . It's better to not to talk about wave's here . Wave is created by media . more
