Big swallowing small has become an accepted norms right from gram panchayats to nations. Law of the land and nations are only for the education sake not for the protection of the common men/nations. Ukraine has caught the eyes of the world due to media, otherwise big swallowing small is a routine affairs. more

This action by Russia is a very bad precedent set for other bigs to swallow smalls. Next we can expect this to happen between China and Taiwan. This will force all smalls to associate with the bigs faster in a defence treaty. Imagine what would have happened to India vs China without the Govt. taking first security of the Nation and propping up its defence. more

Doubtful. Actually, Russia used all the excuses in the world to start this war. The fact is that Russia did not want NATO at their doorstep, which is what would have happened if Ukraine got membership of NATO. And, on the other hand, Ukraine wanted to join NATO so that they would get a protective umbrella from NATO. If all big nations go around swallowing small nations there will finally be only one nation. Talking about big swallowing small, China has swallowed a big part of Mongolia, all of Tibet and bits and pieces of almost all the small nations that border it. Russia annexed Crimea. But, the trend of big swallowing small did not happen. There are altogether too many treaties, agreements, organisations like UNO, etc for this to become a trend. more
