WHY SHOULDN’T POLITICAL PARTIES PAY RENT for PUBLIC PLACES and SECURITY DURING RALLIES AND MEETINGS?

This question was raised by an Honorable Justice while hearing a petition from a political party seeking permission to hold a public meeting.

The Justice questioned why political parties should not be required to:
i)Pay ₹25,000 to the police for security.
ii)Pay rent for using public spaces for rallies and meetings.
When the party’s counsel objected, the Justice reiterated that political parties already spend significant amounts on erecting stages, putting up cutouts, and arranging seating.

Will any intelligent and thoughtful Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) take the initiative to discuss this issue in the house and act in the interest of the people and the nation?

If our representatives fail to take action, citizens can leverage local forums and platforms to raise this issue and push for meaningful discussions. more

I agree with Mr. Ramesh Bhagwat's suggestion to convert this subject into PIL. more
WHERE IS THE NEED FOR HOLDING RALLIES N HARASSING PUBLIC THESE POILTICIANS TO SHOW THEIR MUSCLE POWER USE THE PARLIUAMENT PLS TKS more
In principal the observations of the Hon. Judge are correct and the nation should not be made liable to bear the cost of arrangements of security during such occasions. Similarly, the respective political parties should be made liable to pay rent for using public places to organise their political agenda and such money should be used for public welfare. more
The question raised by the hon Justice, should be converted into PIL to make the GOVT raise he issue in parliament or accept its responsibility and start paying for the services. more
Dear Daniel, politics only is to make the public foolish. russ their blood & save their own future life to all generations. nothing else. thanks. bsnegi On Sat, 15 Mar 2025 at 15:15, Jayakumar Daniel wrote: > more
