While this may be a nationalistic sentiment it is important to understand the economic benefits within any product and its final price to customer. Today the manufacturer gets the lowest share within price of a product. Specially for products that are sourced from China for every 100 rupees of retail value China gets less than 30 and even much lower in mass assembly segments. Today the important value where we need to be nationalistic if at all is in a brand. All the added value and dominance within GDP is within services. Therefore the max employment and margin is in distribution, branding, marketing and advertising and retail and delivery. It really does not matter if the product is made in China because of you analyze many products from there they get practically no added value and exploit their labour and environment to produce and sell at any cost. While its at be envious to some we are a democracy and cannot emulate their system and hopefully we are thankful for our democracy even if it makes things slow and messy. Better that the big indian brands retain their customers and brands by buying from China than one day losing the market to them once they decide to brand and sell like the Japanese and Koreans have done. more
