What has been your experience with State and Local corruption in 2019?

State and Local governance in India is ridden with various forms of corruption ranging from petty bribes, to family/friends of those in power profiting from public schemes to acquiring Government assets at throwaway prices. It is also quite common for politicians and Government officials to award contracts to related parties and get benefits in return.

As LocalCircles gets ready to release its India Corruption Survey 2019, we would like to seek your inputs on what has been your corruption experience in 2019. Do share as much detail as possible. Awareness is the first step to change!. more

Recently Ito has asked for bribe from my income tax lawyer. I told him I shall pay for the extra work which you have to do and the Govt. but not to the highly paid corrupt officer. It became much easier now to respond to notices from ITO ,as it can responded very easily on line.
As I am practising doctor for many years and still earning a substantial some of money and don’t want anything extra, I didn’t bribe anybody . But I came across many peoples who accept and give bribe to people and accept it as normal . This is very sad part part of the story. People use have fear of god or police, it is non existent now. People don’t understand that it is a very very serious disease , and we must eliminate it. more
