Only the household or commercial kitchen and organic waste is something people can take care of house, society or private level and this can make a big difference. I have offered an easy, economic and earning way of doing it to number of groups but not many have taken it up. For all other dry,wet, construction, electronic, hospital etc waste it can only be judiciously taken care of at the govt. platform. They do rely on private players for this but with no consistency and reliability. If the govt can can involve itself in projects of any magnitude to fulfill the consumption demands of population it surely needs to take up what and how this consumption is resulting into. The consumed requires more attention then what to consume. more

Yes collecting waste from place 'A' and dumping at place 'B' is no solution to waste management. I have a solution for this by putting up a waste management plant, which is most environment friendly, no toxic gases, no solid waste left and the waste converted to syngas. I have solution to put a 200 ton per day waste treatment plant, which can be treated with Microwave steam plasma technology, and the syngas can generate 5 MW power and 8-10% solid left can be used for construction and no landfill required. This is the latest technology and can be presented to the authorities and have been tested in Japan/Korea/USA. more  

This is a huge issue.Needs to be implemented.In Pune,in many societies,they don't pick up garbage if not segregated.And in Kerala(in Kochi where I have lived for a while)they are very strict about garbage segregation in societies more
