Vyapam Deaths - Media's Ipsi dixit
While the death of the journalist may lead to some suspicion as he was investigating the Vyapam matter, the news reports bring nothing to the knowledge of the public about the deaths of the college Dean and the girl who committed suicide by jumping into a lake, who was a trainee sub-inspector. We, the citizens plainly disbelieve our Netas, for their brazenly dishonest conduct during the last several decades. Now, if media starts making reckless statements, whom do we turn to know what is at least reasonably true? The least that the reporters have to do is to state the prima facie basis for their conclusion or belief that the death is related to Vyapam scam. After the exposure of paid news, the citizens are naturally suspicious of news reports, especially, when they lack any credible evidence to support the views expressed along with the news.
I find it astounding that practically every newspaper worth its printing ink and paper touts these deaths as related to Vyapam scam - that the deceased are either the accused or witnesses to the scam. Are the citizens expected to believe their ipsi dixit? Believe the media, merely because it says so? more
