Vyapam Deaths - Media's Ipsi dixit

For the last three days, there have been three deaths, which according to the Media are related to Vyapam scam unfolding in MP. Deaths are tragic. They leave permanent damage on the families, by depriving a breadwinner, or a beloved daughter etc. The belated investigation ordered by the MP Government feeds fuel to the raging fire of speculative news.

While the death of the journalist may lead to some suspicion as he was investigating the Vyapam matter, the news reports bring nothing to the knowledge of the public about the deaths of the college Dean and the girl who committed suicide by jumping into a lake, who was a trainee sub-inspector. We, the citizens plainly disbelieve our Netas, for their brazenly dishonest conduct during the last several decades. Now, if media starts making reckless statements, whom do we turn to know what is at least reasonably true? The least that the reporters have to do is to state the prima facie basis for their conclusion or belief that the death is related to Vyapam scam. After the exposure of paid news, the citizens are naturally suspicious of news reports, especially, when they lack any credible evidence to support the views expressed along with the news.

I find it astounding that practically every newspaper worth its printing ink and paper touts these deaths as related to Vyapam scam - that the deceased are either the accused or witnesses to the scam. Are the citizens expected to believe their ipsi dixit? Believe the media, merely because it says so? more

You both are absolutely correct in bringing the light of the factual attitude of media houses particularly in this Vyapam issue. The Media presentations in all other issues if compared with this vital issue , their selective approach in this issue is certainly unlike & different and even away from their basics. The police and investigation teams are also silent in their working and releasing time to time informations collected which will give the roots of possibilities. The power and or status of mafia behind the Scam , if we think , is such at High-level. Notifying periodical issues found in investigation is only the present solution for the disclosure of misery / secrecy before which the Statistics / figures of the First two , three steps investigation information will also help to form a possibly perfect cause . more
Media is a business. It is not social service but purely & fully profit motive. Its profit is based on TRP & to get it, media sensationalize every issue. All news channels show the same news but claim it is their exclusive breaking news though it is broken by some foreign media. Each sentence uttered by them becomes expose. Times now has claimed more than 100 news items as exposes in Lalit case. Every channel claim they are number one. They are fooling viewers. They can question others but no body question them. They expose only news which gets them maximum TRP that mean juicy news. That is why they coolly ignore the atrocities in UP where the journalist was burnt and a lady was burnt few days back & other cases in congress ruled states. Media can take any basis or logic to prove the leaders & party wrong. If they proved wrong they keep quiet. They argue only from their side & never allow accused to speak his mind so that viewers can make the judgement. They want public to believe what they say. Paid news is another aspect. Many media person is attached to one or the other party mostly to congress. This corruption is not seen to them. more
