Validity of 50 paisa coin

I have with me some 50 paisa coins, I went to bank for deposit the same but the bank is refusing to accept, l have checked up with RBI notifications, only the 25 paisa coins have been stopped. Please advise what is to be done to get the value from these coins. Satish Gurtoo more

Best way to resolve the matter is to PRESERVE THE COINS and use them as GIFT. more

If you want to have a short cut way, go to RBI exchange coin office they will readily exchange with the equivalent amount in rupees without any question. more

Your post indicates that 50 paise coin is not in currency now. It is true in NCR. You can exchange these coins with me with equivalent Rupee notes as I can spend these coins in Kerala when I go to my home town next time. It is still in currency there. I don't know when 50 paise coin becomes rejected in Kerala. more

Insist with the Beranch Manager on being shown RBI instructions. Shout if need be. Do not be cowed down by such tectice of the banks. There may be less problem with SBI more

Take the coins to RBI Office in Parliament Street, New Delhi, and get the exchange. You may ask them to credit the exchanged notes into your account in any of the bank. If they do not agree, go to the Ombudsman Office in the same building for a solution. more
