Urban Transportation

I saw some of the inputs desired by Ministry of Urban development on swachh bharat, civic sense etc.
Modiji says "make in India"
We all participants are happily contributing our views, ideas, time etc hoping that -we are the part of this change. Good feeling (at least for our individual satisfaction).
MOUD has set specifications for supplying automatic fire protection system in Govt buses bought under JnNURM funds.
The specified system is manufactured in Israel, it is imported and being installed in the vehicles. The manufacturer must have not installed more than 1000 systems in Israel since 1995, Indian Govt is planning to buy ten thousand systems within one year? History has proved that we are very generous to make others rich.
There are many Indian companies, who can design and supply a better system at much lesser cost. The same product also can be manufactured. MoUD has asked for FM approved product, why? The FM tag will cost dearly, FM approval is required in US as the products are covered under insurance.By paying premium to FM(Factory Mutual) tag, what India will get?
The specs were finalised and signed on 24 July 2014 by Director(Urban Transport-I), under who's instructions were the specs finalised? was it -out going minister or some officer in the ministry for personal benefits?
Swachh Bharat can't be achieved by advising others, if every one honestly does his duty, we will achieve our goal.
If MoUD, is really working on our inputs, we can see what actions will be initiated by the ministry and what the Govt will do for promoting -indigenous items. Otherwise, we shall better remain happy doing what we were doing earlier than wasting time on these sites.
The action is required on-
1. why the Indian Manufacturers were not consulted?
2. why monopoly product is recommended?
3. why FM approval is required?
4. Why the product has to be tested against MIL standard? MIL standard is for Military application(if it is required- why TATA motors or any manufacturer is not supplying a bus with MIL standards. TATA manufactures vehicles for Defense as per MIL standard, then why not supply public transport with same standard? or MRF manufactures Tyres for Formula1 cars, why such tyres are not supplied by bus manufacturer with new bus?)
4. When the application does not require such standards, why the MoUD asking for such tests, is it to promote some company for personal benefit.
5. ARAI,CIRT,VRDE such agencies could define a perfect fire system till date, but ministry could do in few months. more

It seems this platform is used like facebook or Tweeter, you can express your views, people will read, comment and all of us will forget.Wake up next day to see new posts and so on... These comments are not taken into consideration by any Govt officials, this platform is only used to post whatever they wish to convey.. Reason to mention this is - no action is yet initiated by MoUD on this, the officer in chair is not ready to grant any deviation in the product, decided to promote a patented product, means promoting some company for personal benefits. If Govt wants to provide a product of international standard, there are many options available, there are institutions /agencies who are exclusively working on vehicle fire protection, govt is not recommending the products approved by these agencies. It should be the vehicle manufacturer who should decide what type of product or system to be installed on his vehicle. MoUD can only give a guidelines-e.g. all vehicles should have automatic/semi automatic fire systems etc .Surprisingly the officer in chair is recommending a product. Our honorable PM says "Make in India", but Govt officials say "don't make, we shall import" So many people are associated with local circle groups, has any one got any response from the concerned official till date? If anybody has got any response please mail. If not, then we shall at least be happy to say - this is our swadeshi Facebook site more
Why courtesy? we are not asking Govt to do any favour on us. only such technology should be imported which is not economically feasible to develop or there is no developer in India. If anyone can make it, it has to be Indian product. more
At least we have that much courtesy to give opportunity to Indian made products. more
