Upper berth issued without consent :

Upper berth for senior citizen though booked 3 weeks ahead. No indication of what is going to be offered before payment. Though preference was for side lower .

*If there was an indication I would have gone for another class or train or date .

*Will the railway forgo the cancellation fee as I can’t travel anything other than lower berth.

*There doesn’t seem to be any response or advice from the IRCTC. What do I do ? Travel by train and lie down on the floor ?

The ticket was booked exactly 21 days ahead of the journey date . more

I Think it would be helpful for the passengers to indicate the berth details before the journey is confirmed and payment is made. This is a suggestion which IRCTC may kindly consider more
