TRAFFIC ADVISORY- REPUBLIC DAY PARADE

Republic Day Parade will be held on 26th January, 2016. The Parade will start at 9.50 AM from Vijay Chowk and proceed for Red Fort Grounds. There will be a related function at India Gate at 09.00 AM.
In order to ensure free and uninterrupted movement of Parade along the route and to regulate city traffic, Delhi Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangements. Also attached is the map.

ROUTE OF THE PARADE:
Vijay Chowk – Rajpath - India Gate - Tilak Marg - Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg – Netaji Subhash Marg - Red Fort.

RESTRICTION ON ROUTE OF THE PARADE:
In order to facilitate the free passage of parade, movement of traffic on certain roads leading to the route of the Parade will be restricted as under:-
(1) No traffic from Vijay Chowk to India Gate on Rajpath from 03.00 PM on 25.01.2016 till Parade is over.
(2) No cross traffic on Rajpath from 11.00 PM on 25.01.2016 at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till Parade is over.
(3) ‘C’-Hexagon-India Gate will be closed for traffic from 02.00 AM on 26.01.2016 till parade crosses Tilak Marg.
(4) Traffic on Tilak Marg, will not be allowed from 10.00 A.M. on 26.01.2016 on both directions. Cross traffic will only be allowed depending on movement of the Parade.
The cross traffic on the route of the parade at Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk (W. point) R.C. Aggarwal Chowk (ITO Chowk), Delhi Gate and beyond will be allowed depending upon the movement of the parade.

PROHIBITED AREA:
Area bounded by T-Point South Avenue/Tyag Raj Marg – K.Kamraj Marg – R/A Sunheri Masjid Maulana Azad Road – R/A Man Singh Road – Akbar Road between Man Singh road & C Hexagon – C Hexagon between Akbar Road & Ashok Road and Ashok Road upto R/A Jaswant Singh Road – Dr. Rajender Prasad Road – Red Cross Road – Sansad Marg – Imtiaz Khan Road – Rakab Ganj Road – Pt. Pant Marg – Church Road upto T-Point Church Road/North Avenue (inclusive).
This area will be restricted and vehicles barring those with CONTROL & DUTY labels will not be permitted to ply inside this area after 11.00 PM on January 25, 2016 till the closure of function on January 26, 2016.

RESTRICTED AREA:
Area bounded by Kautilya Marg-Kamal Ataturk Marg-Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road-‘Q’-point-Humayun Road-Subramania Bharti Marg-Mathura Road-Bhagwan Dass Road-R/A Mandi House- Feroze Shah Road- K.G. Marg upto Tolstay Marg-Sansad Marg-R/A Patel Chowk -Ashoka Road-Baba Kharak Singh Marg- R/A RML Mother Teresa Crescent upto 11 Murti and Sardar Patel Marg upto Kautilya Marg will be restricted area.
Only labeled vehicles of the invitees and vehicles of bona-fide residents of the restricted area shall be permitted to enter this area on 26.01.2016 from 6 AM till conclusion of the Parade at about 12.30 P.M.
No TSR and Taxi will be allowed to enter or ply in this restricted area after 6.00 AM on 26.01.16. Those visitors who are coming by auto/taxi may use ‘Park & Ride’ facility to reach the venue.
Invitees are requested to follow the routes and instructions printed on back of the labels issued to them to reach the parking lots designated for their vehicle.

SEATING ENCLOSURES AND PARKING LABELS
Invitation Cards/tickets have been issued for the invitees and other spectators. People are requested to acquaint themselves with the location of their seating enclosures and the parking lots. For the guidance of the visitors, directional boards for seating enclosures have also been erected at various locations.
Enclosures No. 1 to 17, VG, V-I & V-II are located on the South side of Rajpath, while enclosures No. 18 to 35 & VN are located on the North side of Rajpath.
The Triangular Parking labels are meant for parking lots No.1 to 5 situated on the South side of Rajpath behind the Water Channel. Similarly, Square parking labels 6 to 9 are for parking lots on Northern side of Rajpath behind Water Channel.
In addition, separate parking labels meant for “Park & Ride” scheme on same pattern i.e. Square labels for parking at Palika Parking Connaught Place (for North of Raj Path enclosures) and Triangular labels for parking at Central Civil Services Cultural & Sport Board Ground at Vinay Marg (for South of Raj Path enclosures) have been issued.
Invitees/ticket holders are requested to acquaint themselves with the arrival and dispersal plan of their parking lots.

PARK & RIDE SCHEME
There is ’Park & Ride’ scheme for invitees of certain categories.
Officers upto the rank of Directors & equivalents, Service Officers, War Widows, Freedom Fighters & MLAs are to park their vehicles at the designated ‘Park & Ride’ locations i.e.
(1) Football Ground of Central Civil Services Sports and Cultural Board Ground, Vinay Marg (for South of Rajpath sitting enclosures)
(2) Underground Palika Parking, Connaught Place (for North of Rajpath sitting enclosures).
Shuttle bus service is available at these points to take them to their seating enclosures at Rajpath. No one is allowed to reach to the seating enclosures at South/North of Rajpath directly.
Officers, who are issued invitation cards for seating Enclosures No. 5, 8, 12, 14, 15 shall reach ‘Park & Ride’ location at Football Ground, Central Civil Services Cultural & Sport Board Ground, Vinay Marg, park their vehicles there and use Park & Ride bus to reach their respective seating enclosures. Similarly officers with invitation card for seating enclosures No.22, 24, 29 & 31 shall reach ‘Park & Ride’ location at Palika Underground Parking Connaught Place. Invitees are required to reach ‘Park & Ride” locations between 0730 hours to 0900 hours. This facility is available only for those vehicles displaying “Park & Ride” labels.
For South of Rajpath seating enclosures, the buses shall de-board the invitees at Akbar Road near round about Man Singh Road and Maulana Azad Road near Nirman Bhawan, whichever is closer to their seating enclosures. For North of Rajpath seating enclosures the buses shall de-board the invitees at Rajender Prasad Road on both sides at its crossing with Janpath.
After conclusion of the ceremony, the officers may board the waiting buses from the same points where they alighted and reach their respective ‘Park & Ride’ locations where they had parked their vehicles.

SUGGESTED ROUTES
Road users for whom the journey is unavoidable and the road user is inclined to cross the India Gate they are suggested to take the following routes.

NORTH –SOUTH CORRIDOR:
Ring Road – Ashram Chowk – Sarai Kale Khan – I.P. Flyover – Rajghat – Ring Road.
From Aurobindo Chowk – Safdarjung Road – Kamal Atatturk Marg – Kautilya Marg – Sardar Patel Marg – Mother Teresa Crescent – roundabout RML – Baba Kharak Sing Marg.
Prithvi Raj Road – Rajesh Pilot Marg – Subramania Bharti Marg- Mathura Road.

EAST- WEST CORRIDOR:
Ring Road-Bhairon Road- Mathura Road – Subramania Bharti Marg – Rajesh Pilot Marg - Prithvi Raj Road- Safdarjung Road- Kamal Atatturk Marg- Panchsheel Marg- Simon Bolivar Marg- Vande Matram Marg.
Ring Road-Bhairon Road- Mathura Road – Lodhi Road – Aurbindo Marg- Safdarjung Road – Teen Murti Marg –Mother Teresa Crescent- Park Street – Shankar Road – Ring Road.
Ring Road- Boulevard Marg- Barf Khana Chowk – Rani Jhansi Road- Faiz Road – D.B. Gupta Road.

FOR NEW DELHI RAILWAY STATION:
From South Delhi:- Mother Teresa Crescent –R/A RML Hospital-Baba Kharak Singh Marg-Outer Circus Connaught Place-Chelmsford Road for Paharganj side or Minto Road- Bhavbhuti Marg for Ajmeri Gate.
From East Delhi: Boulevard Road via ISBT Bridge - Rani Jhansi Road via Jhandewalan – D.B. Gupta Road-Sheela Cinema Road- Paharganj.

FOR OLD DELHI RAILWAY STATION (DELHI MAIN )
From South Delhi: Ring Road - Ashram Chowk-Sarai Kale Khan-Ring Road-Rajghat-Ring Road-Chowk Yamuna Bazar- S.P. Mukherjee Marg-Chhatta Rail-Kauria Bridge.
Though, there will be no restriction for people from North Delhi going to-wards New Delhi Railway Station or Old Delhi Railway Station yet it is advised that they plan their journey in advance and take sufficient extra time to reach their destination to avoid possible delay.

BUS TERMINATING POINTS:
Movement of the City Bus Services will be curtailed at the following Terminal points;-
1. R/A Krishna Menon Marg 2. Tyagraj Marg
3. Park Street/Udyan Marg 4. Aram Bagh Road (Pahar Ganj )
5. R/A Kamla Market. 6. Delhi Sachivalaya (IG Stadium)
7 Pragati Maiden (Bhairon Road) 8. Hanuman Mandir
9. Nigam Bodh Ghat 10. Budh Vihar (ISBT)
11 Mori Gate 12 ISBT Sarai Kale Khan
INTER STATE BUSES:
(I) Buses from Ghaziabad bound for Shivaji Stadium shall take NH-24, Ring Road & terminate at Bhairon Raod.
(II) Buses coming from Ghaziabad side will be diverted at Mohan Nagar towards Bhopra Chungi for Wazirabad Bridge.
(III) Buses coming from NH-24 shall take right turn on Road No. 56 and terminate at ISBT Anand Vihar.
(IV) All buses coming from Dhaula Kuan side shall terminate at Dhaula Kuan.
METRO TRAIN:
Metro Rail Service shall remain available for commuters at all Metro Stations during the Republic Day Parade on 26th Jan., 2016.
However, Entry/Exit at the below mentioned station will not be permitted as per schedule given :-
i) Entry & Exit at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro stations will remain closed from 0000 Hrs upto 1230 Hrs. on 26.01.2016.
ii) Patel Chowk and Race Course Metro stations entry and exit will remain closed from 0845 Hrs. to 1230 Hrs. on 26.01.2016.
iii) Central Secretariat station will only be used for interchange of passengers between Line 2 and Line 6.
HGVs/LGVs:
No HTVs/LGVs will be allowed to enter in Delhi from borders from 2200 hrs on 25.01.16 till parade is over.
HGVs/LGVs will not be allowed between Sarai Kale Khan to I.S.B.T. on 26.01.2015 from 0730 hours till 1230 hours.
Instructions to General Public
In case of any unidentified object or suspicious person seen, information must be conveyed to the nearest policeman on duty.
General public and motorists are requested to keep patience, observe traffic rules & road discipline and follow directions of traffic personnel deployed at all intersections. People are requested to plan their journey in advance and keep sufficient time in hand to avoid inconvenience.
