Timeliness of Trains - Issues & Root Causes

Solutions for timeliness. 1) E signalling throughout India. 2) More trains where commuters are more. 3) Increase tracks where more trains are required to be run. more

On 30.08.2015 I traveled from Coimbatore to Chennai in seat no 70, D13 coach of Kovai Express Train No 12676 PNR no 4110906696 . At the outset I should congratulate for running the train in time right from the starting point to till the destination. But the following serious flaw has been noted. Even though TTE has checked the tickets of all reserved passengers promptly including IDs as per the reservation chart,but he has not asked the tickets of the passengers who has traveled with out any reservation. Consequently there was great inconvenience to the reserved passengers. In some seats the reserved passengers forced to travel in standing as unreserved passengers occupied the seats. the coach was full standing in all places on the passage to toilet. It was looking like unreserved coach. In the absence of checking the tickets of unreserved passengers, it is doubtful whether they have tickets. In view of this because of inaction of concerned , there is likely hood of financial loss to Railways. At the same time not checking the tickets of all passengers by TTE may not be purposefully , it may be due to work load. ie one TTE for many coaches. The Railways should investigate the above facts in thread bear and necessary remedial measures shall be taken avoid the recurrence in future. Normally such kind of people traveling unauthorized happening in Northern Railways only but now it started in Southern Railways also It is high time to intervene and stop this menace . I hope I will get reply from Railways for the actions taken on this issue. more

The Max speed of the trains should be increased, so that they can fill the time gap in less time. more

AT MANY OF THE STATIONS CROSSING OF RAILWAYS FOR PARTICULAR STATION MAKES TRAIN WAIT OUT SIDE THE STATION FOR LONG TIME, SOME TIMES 30 MINUTES TOO SPECIALLY AT AHMEDABAD, BARODA, SURAT. SUCH CROSSING CAN BE AVOIDED BY TWO PLATFORM UP ( FIRST FLOOR ) AND DOWN. more
