This is not the first time that we have been haring / witnessing such accident at different corners in India. After the incident the Ministry / Railway authorities conduct an investigation (for eye wash) and spent lakhs of rupees and prepare the documents which are running in thousands of pages. These papers will be dumped in a corner without any corrective measures or to bring the culprits in the book. Because always the investigation or court of inquiry will be influenced by some political parties to cover up their own / department mistakes.
Has anyone seen in a Railway station that depicts the Emergency Number or details to which a passenger is to be contacted during journey, accident etc. So how a normal citizen would come to know where they have to call during emergency / call for doctors / or to report fighting looting in the running train, call for assistance, lack of water in the running train etc. When accident and other problem come then everyone will tell we have Emergency services, ambulances, doctor’s etc.etc. From where a passenger or citizen can get those details in case of any need. Railway just collects money from public and provide dilapidated and condemned compartment in certain areas where the train is running above 120 KM per hour. The allocation of compartment, infrastructure and facilities depends on number of MPs from the state, ruling party, influence by the ministers etc.etc and not as required by the railway within the railway guidelines and parameters of placing compartments. No one take care for the safety and pleasant journey of public and to ensure that they reach safely at back home / place. First of all we should have safety personnel (qualified) to check the railway tracks, old bridges specially that are crossing various rivers in the different parts of India, unmanned railways, single track locations, there are states that are posing treat by antisocial elements etc. Second priority should be for the compartment and their connected components like brake, electricity etc .etc. Very recently there was a case that one compartment got fired due to electrical short circuit and another incident was that after stopping the train at station few compartments were re-located from the chain and hit other stopped trains. Especially in the long run trains we can see that the electric junction box of each compartment is not secured and locked properly and any one can tamper those instruments. These are railways responsible to secure and safeguard such places to avoid fire inside the compartment. more

To avoid repetition of similar incident all flood affected area bridges to be inspected before train movements. more
Mr.sasidharan, the root cause of the malady lies hidden in your comment itself. Let me tell how. Who is the boss of rlys. Railway minister. Ok. Then if something goes very wrong, whom should he take to task? The CRB. Agreed? But see what happens. After an accident everyone jumps at the Minister. And what does he do? Instead of taking somebody to task he has to make a public show of visiting the place ,offer sympathy and democratic noise and end up defending the derelict mechanism that has failed. After sometime everybody rests in peace. Unless the minister cracks the whip and goes into the wherewithals for the failure we will be ploughing the same old rut. more
RAILWAY MINISTRY SAYS SECURITY ONLY AT THE TIME OF PARLAMENT. BASICALLY THERE IS NO SECURITY & ALL ARE CURRUPTED. WHY WE ARE NOT GETTING THE REPORT OF ANY ACCIDENT, WHOS FAULT & WHAT PUNISHMENT RLY GIVING TO THEM? ACTUALLY RLY MINSTER OR TOP LEVEL OFFICERS NEVER TRAVEL BY TRAIN more
