THE NEED FOR SKILLED LABOR IN INDIAN AGRICULTURE.

Agriculture in India is the most neglected sector.Hitherto agriculturists in this country were fooled by the respective govts to get their votes and doing nothing for their uplift.Along with urbanization, the agriculture labor migrated to towns and cities. The farmer in the villages has been helpless and much of the lands were either used to grow cash crops or uncultivated or under cultivated as a result even the remaining workforce also migrated as domestic helps or coolies outside villages.Added to this, the vagaries of monsoon due to deforestation and climate change, lack of water and irrigation facilities, extraction from money lenders and agents, severe drought etc have driven them to commit suicide. No govt had sincerely tried to solve the problems of this sector which gives bread and butter to every resident of
this country. This govt should therefore sincerely try to address these issues by taking steps to 1) arrest migration of agricultural labors outside the villages.2) train them as skilled labores, using machines where ever possible to enable more production,3) improving irrigation facilities,4) Bank loans at subsidised rates and compulsory crop insurance,5)banning private lending and agency system,6) providing easy marketing and e marketing facilities, timely transporting facilities.7) arranging to sell farm products through their own Farmers cooperative societies eliminating all middlemen or traders.8) bringing about more irrigation projects especially to the drought hit areas.9)establish agricultural schools in all villages to improve their literacy and impart technical knowledge to improve agricultural operations, irrigation, transportation, marketing, use of bio gas and solar power, wind power, use of improvised seeds, allied activities, organic farming etc. These are the most important steps to improve the economy of this country and to bring down the price line and not the bullet trains or smart cities which can be looked in to after addressing these issues on priority. This circle should dedicate a circle for Agriculture which is most important section and back bone of this country. more
