Swachh Bharat Failing at Municipal Levels

I read the survey report below that was shared by the circle admin few weeks ago.

I must say, we circle members have been generous. I feel over 60% saying city is somewhat cleaner is a lot because Govt is spending tons of money on this campaign.

However where I am agreeable is that I feel if civic bodies are not cleaned up and reformed, i am afraid this mission will fall flat on its face.

The urban dev ministry has to really rise to the occasion here and demand major accountability. you are collecting cess from the whole country and if you dont deliver, people will remember.

A lot of good conversation seems to be taking place and i dont mean to undermine that. i think it is the common man at the end of the day that will play the big role, however govt has to do its bit, central, state, local. PM and his speeches alone wont get us there.

With all due respect.

The main problem with public services is --- LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY..... Unless accountability is enforced and those at fault are punished with punishments like LOSS of JOBS, or Loss of certain percentage of salary on a permanent basis or loss of retirement benefits. ----- NOTHING WILL HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY. more
Generation of public awareness is the most important factor followed by accountability. Enough time has been spent but visually not much improvement is noticed. We are left with one more year to complete the task. Highest priority should be given to implementation. Govt should show case Sikkim to rest of the country. more
The swatch Bharat is a flop . That is nothing but to charge 0.5% cess from the citizens. more
Nation and Society lead by common man in democracy. The situation is in existence at this stage. The cultural change in the common man with civic senses is the most important issue for social and national developments. On the other hand, government should prepare the policies and laws which common man should understand and implement with ease. In this respect, Modi Government is taking maximum steps with the concern of common public with the help of social media. Swachh Bharat is one of the strongest step which common man is understanding and implement in a good manner. To implement any government policy, cultural change is required which people are catching. more
