Swachh Bharat Enforcement through Court

Municipal corporations are just not delivering on Swachh Bharat across most of India and the Govt both Central and State are hoping some how 20 cities will become smart cities. This is wishful thinking.

Can the lawyers and others come forward and advise how the Central Govt can hold these municipalities accountable if they have been given money.

From actions at least it seems the Central Govt isn't very serious about whether these bodies deliver or not.

But if are paying Cess, we must demand accountability. Pls share views. more

In fact whatever cess we pay under different heads, no transparent reporting is done on, how much money was collected under different cess, how this money was deployed and where what's remaining from cess amount. Mr Rajesh it seems that Each govt forces cess to extort money from common man. These all govt can show their muscle power to common man only. when it comes to deal with big corporate, they waive off their loans by writing off NPA's through various banks. why big corporate are given this consideration to this much extent????????????? Even BJP govt is no different as found in news for the amount waived off in March2013 to March 2015. more
lets initiate it at our level. waste management should be taken up at the micro level, monitored and instructed. this will be more effective. there is no point just blaming the central govt. all govts organiations are equally involved. more
We are responsible for not littering our cities, but if we have a government which collects money from us in the name of municipal taxes plus cess, etc., they have to deliver. Let the municipalities make a beginning by enforcing discipline in their employees. In Lucknow, we pay taxes, we hire private sweepers to sweep the roads and we pay baksheesh to municipal sweepers for Holi, Dewali, Dussehra, for work they do not do, otherwise they will not allow even the private sweepers to work. It is goonda raj. more
We have a three tier system - the central government, State Govt and local municipal corporations each conveniently blaming the other. To compound the problem at times the centre, the state and corporations are ruled by different political parties; always at loggerheads. To start with, citizens should stop paying Swatchh Bharath cess . We should demand accountability from the Entity responsible for keeping our cities clean. Ofcourse we as citizens should also do our duty be not littering the streets. For this government should sensitize citizens regarding cleanliness and also punish the defaulters. more
