Supporting Chennai - Inputs Sought

Earlier this week, LocalCircles upon request from Chennai community took up the cause of providing data and mobile credit to Chennai citizens for 48 hours. This was supported by most mobile service providers.

Today, we are taking up the cause of banks/finance co.s delaying EMI, credit card, insurance payment dates, PF, ESIC deposits by 2 weeks.

Preventing water borne and other diseases, providing shelter and restoring life, reconstructing, a lot more will need to be done.

We seek your inputs on what else should be done by Government, Businesses and Citizens to get Chennai going again.

We look forward to your inputs! more

NGO's will be first to collect donations and not for relief. I've seen lots of youth doing this work without looking for any thing in return. This should be the spirit. I have seen lot of youth from Bangalore pack essentials and leave for Chennai in different groups. they are the true HEROES more
The need of the hour in Chennai and other rain affected part of Tamil Nadu is food, clothing shelter medicines. Incase any NGOs take up seriously, these relief material could reach the needy ones. more
Why do we need a palace in Chennai called Raj Bhavan and a Governor named Mr.Rosiah for Tamilnadu ? The disaster zone of Kotturpuram, Adayar, Indira Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur, Guindy etc was just a stone throw away from his residence. We saw him, with Mr. Narendra Modi and Ms.Jayalalitha on TV, when Rs.1000 crores was declared for emergency relief on 1 Dec 2015. Did anyone see or meet him after that ? Such long standing political cowards must be kicked out of office now ! more
The priority is to given for removing the water slags. Continuous stagnation of water is the main cause of diseases, also if stagnated water removed, the people will come out their homes and will search for their needs. No need for helping them for their environmental needs. Is the Sewerage Board will help for this? Do it at once as much as possible. more
