There is a misconceived notion that catching street dogs or sterilizing them violates animal rights. These things are spread by the elite sections and 3rd page glitterati who are not affected by dogs roaming the streets. They travel by cars and drive straight into their homes. But imagine the plight of people who ride cycles or walk on the street . Many of them are chased or bitten by street dogs and if they happen to be rabid, death is almost certain for them . Imagine the anguish and sorrow of the near and dear ones when that happens. I have seen several such incidents and particularly appalled by children getting bitten by rabid street dogs. Especially those who return from work late at night are terrorised by street dogs. I am not saying we should torture or kill the dogs. But just remove them from the streets. Let those rich people who advocate animal rights adopt them or setup/ finance shelters for such dogs. But spare and save the poor people from them. more
