Stray Dog Removal

LC members your good work is slowly but surely brining results. Today the SC refused to entertain a plea wanting stop on removal of stray dogs from public places. SC Said nothing doing.

Along with the removal of stray dogs from the public places, here are the last year guidelines for the feeding of stray dogs in the public area by the Supreme court;

1. Stray dogs cannot be fed on public roads, footpaths, parks, staircases, parking areas, or building entrances.

2. Feeding is allowed only at officially designated spots approved by civic authorities.

3. No individual has the right to convert public spaces into private dog-feeding zones.

4. Public safety takes priority over personal choice to feed stray dogs.

5. If feeding causes dog congregation, barking, chasing, or bite risk, authorities must intervene immediately.

6. Aggressive, rabid, or dangerous stray dogs must be removed from public areas without delay.

7. Residents can formally complain against feeding that creates nuisance or safety hazards.

8. Compassion for animals cannot come at the cost of citizens’ right to safe public movement.

9. Municipal bodies are legally responsible for regulating feeding locations and controlling stray populations.

10. Unauthorized feeding in common/public areas should attract civic penalties.

If you see violators take a picture and report them. We should unite to make India free of stray dogs. The stray dog feeders can take them home. more

Despite this and several such rulings by various High Courts across the nation, the municipal corporations don't take any cognizance of the issue and you can see stray dogs not just loitering but biting. And these cases are only rising everywhere across the nation. God knows what needs to be done by the citizens to bring Municipal Corporations into action and stray dogs are lifted. Bad roads, poor street lights, stray dogs, corrupt municipal corporations and police all this despite paying taxes. This is it all about developing India. more
