Stop disposable plastic water bottles

A study has found each litre of bottled water contains 110,000 to 370,000 plastic particles — and about 90% of them are nanosized pr less than 1 micrometer in size.

Lets ban these plastic bottles. Lets stand up against the lobby.

Apart from creating awareness one can take area specific issues and file a Writ Petition in courts as right to clean environment is also a fundamental right. more
I would like to add that, as per report researchers are not sure from where these nano particles got leached from, they are suspecting about probable reasons of this leaching is from RO membranes which is used in water filteration. Then why not Ban RO based water treatment plants. No doubt disposal of plastic has become a real problem, but plastic is not a problem it self, problem are the people who, after consuming the water throw the bottle here and there contributing to increase the problem. Recycling may solve some problem but broad awareness and infra structure is required. I think LC should not only inform about problems it should be creative enough to suggest probable solutions too. more
I think technology for disposing plastics have not been invented till now..... Conventional methods of burrying (under the land), sinking in water bodies and burning are not suitable for plastics... more
Sir,
Technology for recicyling of plastic is there but to make it cost effective, we need to work on it. we need to aware consumers to make sure to keep all plastic waste at one place and dispose to any plastic waste collector which may get recicyled. There are such waste collectors every where but they are not supposed to pick it from here and there. They will pay some price too but that doese'nt matter, all that matters is proper disposal. Every user of bottled water be told to squeez and cap the bottel before disposal so it take minimum volume in waste bin, and unhigenic re-use could also be avoided. more
