Every year we complain about chinese diwali lights flooding our market and yet nothing happens. They come back the next year.

Why does BIS not develop mandatory standards for festive diwali lighting so atleast the cheap chinese lighting which dont meet any standards dont enter the market. more

Firstly do we have any standards based on which we can reject their cheap products ? I doubt. Secondly as mentioned by Sh. Ranjit, the govt cannot be expected to do everything. As a society we must boycott cheap products, Chinese or otherwise especially when the safety is compromised. more
China produces similar products of with different qualities. The best with goes to the developed countries where quality checks are stringent, bad to worse qualities (cheaper version) enters developing/ under developed countries where obviously quality checks are of primitive types. We through our own industrialists / traders have to campaign for best quality practices more
Why not we, the Indian consumers, take an outright decision to boycott all Chinese products, particularly, the cheaper ones including electrical items, crackers, toys etc. In fact we are easily attracted to cheaper ones forgetting all other things but expect the government to come forward and resolve the issues forgetting that the government has to follow various international laws and understandings as well as pacts with other nations. more
Diwali cracker ( Phataka) no Air pollution and less noise. अभी तक आपने जैन भेल, जैन वड़ा पाव, जैन समोसा खाये होंगे अब मार्केट में जैन फटाके आ गए हैं। more
On one hand we are so called in acute recession - no jobs etc - yet some have excess money to waste on diwali or rather DEWALA NAKALNE KA SEASON ? GOI n GOI ADMINISTRATORS _ ARE WASTING PUBLIC MONEY ? more
