Spot fines to aid better sanitation :

The attachment pertains to the civic problems that was reported in The Hindu of 21st. February .

There have been several suggestions through resources posts , Chats by the Circle members over this subject improvement of Civic facilities, Sanitation and hygiene . One of them was to impose fines and Penalties. I think the last and most important step is to be taken by the Centre as spoken by the joint Secretary of the Urban Development .

I hope this would be implemented successfully well to see that our home towns, districts , state and nation gets cleaned up to the level we Indians deserve.

The door to door collections, increase the number of Toilets as one stop spots for other facilities are some mentioned in the report .

The idea of involving State , civic agencies N.G.O’s should take us a long way .

All that we wish and expect from this initiative from the centre is :

* this should be a continuous process where time to time changes will be needed and shouldn’t stop like many initiatives that goes quiet after initiating and inaugurating .

* Involvement of all agencies should be there to share a common Goal of Swatchh Bharat . Centre should encourage local involvement for the total success of the program.

* We the people should give all from our side to see that the program goes well. -- Jai Hind. more

People should be made aware of Swachchhta Abhiyan and benefits of cleanliness and to keep up their awareness fines is must. more
Fines must be imposed. Not only to violators residing. But also to owners of plots left unutilized with/without building construction in it. Such places encourage not only illegal activities, but unwanted residents like SNAKES etc! more

We should encourage people to behave decently. And the encouragement need not be in the form of money. In any Govt. office a citizen goes the officer sitting the other side of the table should behave in a manner that his/her boss has come. The Govt should always come out with initiatives how can the Govt officials serve the citizens restricting the citizens going to the Govt. offices. Govt should say that the citizens are our BOSS let them focus on their earnings and earn more to pay more taxes. more
