Solar Energy Installation

My electricity bills are killing me. Am thinking of installing an online solar energy system. However am not sure if:

1/These are really viable? I am told cost is recovered in 10 years; bit others say panels lose efficiency over 10 years and so it takes longer
2/Should I go in for an online system (much more expensive) or an offline system? The online will work 24 hours and offline will work only when there is sunlight?
3/Do these work at all? Are they useful? Do they cause any damage to any appliances?
4/Does your bill really go down? I am not sure what process DHBNVL follows in reading and charging consumers. My bliss vary from as low as Rs 5000 to as high as Rs 35000. And seem to have no relation to the actual consumption?
5/At what level of energy consumption should one go in for a solar panels system?
6/I am also informed that getting subsidy from government for installing such a system is next to impossible largely because of corruption? Is this true?
7/Net-metering has not yet been started by Harayana Govt but is likely to be started soon. Any one has any ideas when this might be started?

Would appreciate any advice, suggestions; especially from those who have such systems installed at home. Many thanks

You are spot on when you say that load reduction is far more attractive than solar power. In fact, in the entire ecosystem of solar energy, the panels remain the most expensive part. Even after the precipitous price drops. Ujala bulbs have crossed 50% recall rate. The other brand that you mentioned has an average life span of 3 months. But consumers still tend to buy 3rd grade low price stuff. ________________________________ From: VK JAIN Sent: Monday, April 24, 2017 5:19:48 PM To: kamal.gupta@live.in Subject: Found your comment "Net metering is in place ..." helpful more
The cheapest and greenest energy is the one you don't consume. My company offers solutions to reduce air-conditioning energy consumption by 25% to 45%, lighting energy by 65% to 85%. ________________________________ From: Sandeep M Sent: Saturday, April 22, 2017 10:37:00 AM To: kamal.gupta@live.in Subject: Commented on "Solar Energy Installation" in [Residents of GURGAON] more

Here are answers to your query, I have installed system in Gurgaon, India 1) Viable : Multiple way of looking at it, if you electricity consumption is nearly 50% of total in a day, then you can look for solution for entire home. If usage is limited in the day time, it is better opt for solution as per need in the day time and plan 2-3 hours backup for any possible outages. 2) online system wastes electricity if not consumed. You should, rework on the requirement to offline, if you already have backup system or plan to have it. 3) Go with reputed company PCUs like SU-KAM or Luminous etc. I used one of them successfully running inverter AC, fridge etc. 4) We have just gone through recession so, energy cost is low and is at bottom. So do not look into economy of bills, rather plan as per consumption you do on the average per day, leave aside peak requirement on summer when A/Cs run. Hence peak power you should withdraw from grid. 5), 6) convered already 7) Net metering does not give you backup, I believe it is already started. You need to install backup anyway in either case. It is better to have both type of system installed simultaneously (for the case backup is required). more

However am not sure if:  1/These are really viable? I am told cost is recovered in 10 years; bit others say panels lose efficiency over 10 years and so it takes longer YES THEY FUNCTION VERY WELL. COST IS AN ISSUE. PAYBACK IS RELATED TO THE PER UNIT COST YOU PAY, HIGHR IT IS LESSER PAYBACK TIME 2/Should I go in for an online system (much more expensive) or an offline system? The online will work 24 hours and offline will work only when there is sunlight? ON LINE WILL WORK AS UPS. SO NEEDS BATTERY BACK UP, IF YOU HAVE TOO FREQUENT FAILURES IT IS BETTER. YOU GET RELIABLE BATTERIES WHICH CAN LOST 3-5 YEARS. COST IS ABOUT 1 LAKH/KW. WHICH IS COMING DOWN. yOU SHOULD HAVE SHADOW LESS ROOF SPECIALLY SOUTH FACING TO GET SUN FOR LONG PERIOD. THIS WILL BE MORE RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT THAN GENERATOR. 3/Do these work at all ? Are they useful? Do they cause any damage to any appliances?  YES, NO DAMAGES. YOU MUST GO FOR PANELS FROM REPUTED COMPANIES ONLY ALSO THERE ARE ONLY FEW COMPANIES WHO MAKE GOOD CONVERTERS. DONT COPROMISE ON THESE. ALL PANELS EFFICIENCY GOES DOWN BY 10% OVER THE PERIODE BUT THEY LAST 20 YEARS, Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Wed, 29 Jun, 2016 at 13:29, James Washington wrote: more
