Smart City Corruption

I think the Govt is quite clueless about all the massive corruption thats taking place under the so called Smart City Mission. Municipal Commissioners in many cities are striking corrupt deals with businesses and making a killing with our hard earned money.Central Govt officials are as clueless as they can be or just ignorant.

Why are citizens of these so called smart cities not actively reporting this corruption? What are anti corruption bodies in the country doing? more

There is basic lacking in our education system. We have no moral education, we don't feel remorse if we do anything wrong and that reflect in corruption too. We may take high moral ground but inside all are hollow, searching to make quick bucks. more
All such dream & big projects are introduced only with one intention to siphon public money pretending to do developmental works for public welfare. However, in real sense, its the welfare for every one minus public. Otherwise, how the government is releasing huge funds in the name of making our cities smart, which do not have even the minimum required amenities, roads & streets are narrow with no space to make them wide, huge scarcity of drinking water and practically suffering from deficiency of all kind of amenities. Majority of the cities identified to make Smart would never become smart but in the process our public exchequer will lose trillions of hard earned money. more
Corruption is thriving in this country due to several reasons. Firstly, most of State Governments & politicians breed corruption within their different departments & agencies in the form of scams, with no one to monitor & check dealings of politicians. Secondly, the citizens do not raise voice against corruption & cooperate with the Govt. Departments by paying bribes to ensure that their work is done, which is not correct. Thirdly, even if a upright wishes to proceed against corruption, there is either no system in place to report & take action against corruption or even if such a system exists, it is controlled, monitored & checked on regular by corrupt politicians & officials including mafia. Fourthly, due to selfish 'go to hell' & 'why should I care' attitudes among corrupt politicians & officials & citizens, there is no importance for moral, ethical & spiritual values leading to a situation wherein everybody tries to exploit each other as much as possible without realizing the consequences & effects of such actions. Fifthly, since the Govt., politicians & officials are themselves are indulging in corruption on a regular, the citizens are learning to adjust & accept it, which should not happen. Sixthly, since the Govt.'s main focus is on all other areas except -------eradicating corruption, giving justice, doing good to citizens through welfare programmes, providing basic necessities of food, clothing & shelter to everybody, helping citizens & India to progress, enabling its citizens to become wealthy by reducing the tax structure, by not spending the tax collected from its citizens to unnecessary & unwarranted expenditures, by caring about nature, environment, animals, plants, trees, women, children & rivers, upholding the rights of common man with respect to dignity, education & knowledge in life. And all these reasons can be overcome if citizens ( along with honest officials ) unitedly raise voice & report all forms of corruption towards taking constructive, strict, stringent & stern action against corruption, so that, all corrupt politicians, officials & mafia are immediately arrested on the basis of valid evidence & punished with harsh sentences like death . Also, the citizens ( along with honest officials ) should NEVER accept, cooperate or adjust with corruption at any level in any form since as long as a person exists to give bribe, till such time even a bribe taker exists in society. And all laws which give scope for corruption should be immediately be scrapped & replaced by those laws which not only give no room for corruption & scams but also strictly & stern punishes all those who take part in corruption, as either the bribe giver or bribe taker. more
Smart City project in North India is not feasible. As the habits of people can not change and there is no population control in India, so where this population will go, if we have to widen the roads or make other infrastructural facility etc - then there is no land. more
The 1st query - Why are ......not actively reporting ? indicates that some reporting is there and hence some consolation. Prior to NM ' C ' was rampant and non-issue. 1st time NM raised the same seriously and the people awakened.Well begone is half done and rest shall follow but not swiftly. After all Seven decades of sin dirt can not be washed in very first attempt. The bureaucracy which was pursuing the politicians' such agenda was was washing hand in ' Bahti Ganga ', is yet to come to terms - ' Old Sher Ghas khayega kya ' If not then ' Jayega ' a slow death. Same is the case with the public - its awareness and activeness. Let the people be made aware of the ills of ' C ' at all stages of life. NM shown the way let the society lead further

Hope the other query is also answered. more
I FULLY AGREE WITH SHRI ASIS KUMAR DAS. SMART CITY---- TAMILNADU BOOMI (LAND) IS SWARNABOOMI. SMART CITY WAS DEVELOPED DURING THE PREVIOUS REGIME BY ALLIANCE PARTNERS. NOW WHAT IS THE STATUS? SEEKANAMKUPPAM SHOULD ONLY REVEAL US IN TAMIL NADU THE STATUS? SMART OR NOT SMART, ONLY THE COMMON MAN ARE HARASSED BY THIS POWER MONGER'S. WE MUST SILENTLY WATCH THE AUDACITY OF A SENIOR PETER OPENLY ADMITTING IN MEDIA, THAT THEY WILL HARASS BIG BUSINESS HOUSES, TO SILENCE THEM, BUT OUR COMPANY IS VERY SMALL, AND WHY SHOULD WE BE HARASSED BY SOLAR PETER? more
