School Fee Capping

This issue keeps getting discussed but doesnt go any where because netas and businessmen own so many schools in India.

fees for good IB and CBSE schools now in India is between 4 lakhs and 10 lakhs per year now.

parents back is being broken due to fee increases and the Govt fails to regulate or cap this.

can this be done please?

a state or central
government that doesnt liste to people is juat plain worthless.

everyone speak now or hold your peace forever. more

Let Governments not shirk away of providing basic infrastructure like education, health and civic amenities. This is deliberately done for politicians and private players to enter into this sector. To start with stop all medical reimbursements to politicians and make them take treatment in Government Hospitals and see the change. more
It would be better to send your children to government schools. Fees capping in private schools may not be possible as long as there is inflation and living cost goes up regularly. Schools have to compensate inflation to their teaching and other staff but where the money will come from if the fees are capped ? more
Why should education be private at all ? Why aren't govt school teachers made answerable. Why can't we have good infrastructure in govt schools ? We are talking of education being a fundamental right- then why this commoditisation ? Same is the case with health. Glad that this topic has been broached. The very fact that we have caste based reservation after 75 years of independence and not economic basedspeaks volumes. In fact when education itself will be taken over by Govt. This reservation policy for education won't be required at all and private institutions will not be required. Our problem is we as a nation somehow always look at problems and give excuses as to how they cannot be resolved rather than demanding solutions from our elected representatives. We are ok with admiring efficient systems abroad. Why don't we expect that here too. Am sure once we start, we will make some headway more
Private school owners pay local gangs to destroy the toilet doors in government schools, so that parents admit their kids to private schools. Such are the radicals in-house, greedy and looking smart and decent, running private schools under the garb of trusts.. more
Delhi Govt allotted land at nominal cost for setting up of school, based on an agreement, and hence exercised its rights on the matter. In most states the owners have had to buy land and set up schools, and hence the government cannot exercise any control. As far as cost goes there are annual increase in operational costs, which need to be recovered. The Annual surplus is used to upgrade facilities, and therefore unavoidable, just as everyone expects and increment. Yes, as mentioned, Government schools need to perform their responsibilities on the education front, and make good quality education available across their areas of governance. more
very valid points and it would be good if LC can do a survey among citizens and then give feedback to the dept to do necessary actions .It is like a cancer spreading very fast and more than education it has become a business that also very lucrative and lot of private schools have prominent politicians as sleeping partners who are the main culprits in raising the fees every year .it does not happen to their children and it is only the normaly citizens who are effected. more
