SC failed us citizens on stray dogs

As expected, Supreme Court has modified its Aug 11 order, directing that stray dogs be released back after sterilization and immunization.

If properly done, sterilization could significantly reduce the stray population, but in practice, it doesn’t happen.

Like any other govt work, the sterilization drive is yet another opportunity for sarkari karmchari to make money. They sterilize only a few dogs while billing for thousands. So-called sterilized dogs are sent back, they breed again, and no govt official is ever held accountable. Corruption within the municipalities is one of the major causes of the failure of the Animal Birth Control program.

So basically, we are back to square one. more

I completely agree with you 100% more
It's supreme court v/s supreme court. The law makers and judicial officers are reeling under utter confusion to solve the problem of stray/ wild animals. They don't understand the the pain of common man as they themselves are highly protected with the tax payers money. They do not walk on road/paths/street/work in fields/graze cattle in villages. more
I request Local Circles to take up this matter very seriously on behalf of all suffering citizens. If our courts are putting the lives of children at risk they should be sued for all mishaps that are happening in our colonies on daily basis due to stray dogs menace. It is indeed a sad day when human lives are being jeopardized for the sake of keeping stray animals on our streets. In no civilized country have we seen this menace except in our country. What a shameful situation. A child’s life is lost and our authorities still have not come to their senses!!!!!! more
A stray dog took a new borne from hospital and was eaten out within no time. A 47 years old school teacher was totally eaten out by pack of 5 dogs in Sangrur. He could be identified from his motorcycle lying nearby. more

It is nothing but hidden narrative spreader The Problem of stray dogs can be solved if they Put one dog in their house. It will solve the problem. will they ready ? same things against Rohingya miscreants. They can adopt one family & keep in their house as a part of family. They will take care of all their necessary needs. more
